Fake blood, an American Jimmy Saville, skeletons, GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! 2012′s AGK was amazing!
Big Congrats to best vid winners Edward Humphrey, Sophie Morris and Jeppe Rohde Nielsen! and best performance winner Paul Gault! Thanks to all who backed us, all who came, all who sang and most importantly all video makers… without you we would have nothing to sing!
We’ll be putting photos and videos online over the next few days, and we’ll be updating our online karaoke archive with all this year’s entries.
Yuck ‘n Yum needs your help /// please donate to our sponsume page to make the AGK happen
This year, we will see amazing Karaoke videos, and beautiful and bizarre Karaoke performances. We will laugh! We will cry! We will sing! We will award tremendousness! We will do all of this … but not without your help.
If you have ever been to an AGK or Yuck ’n Yum event. If you have ever taken one of our free zines or watched previous years AGK videos online and if you plan to attend this year please help us make it happen.
This is the first time Yuck ‘n Yum has used a crowd funding website. We are aware many of you use this method to fund your own projects! We are sure we can count on your to help us finance the third AGK.
Those who donate will have their name up in lights and a song dedicated to them on the night. For further rewards details and an amusing nude video explaining more please check out our sponsume campaign
With your help Yuck ‘n Yum can deliver. Please support the AGK at our dedicated Sponsume page:

The Yuck ‘n Yum AGK returns for its 2012 outing! Artists and filmmakers compete for karaoke glory and a top prize of £300 for best video!
This year we’ve had dazzling submissions from the furthest of far flung places, but who will be the 2012 AGK champ?
They’re all singing for a place on the karaoke pantheon next to previous winners: artist Rachel Maclean and musicians/artists Joe Howe and Lachlann Rattray.
There’s gonna be some serous karaoke, and it CANNOT be missed!
It’s not too late to help us out on our Sponsume page. Extra goodies are reserved for our generous donors!
This year we have had a number of people asking for more time – so, we have decided to allow those videomakers running late some extra time, however a small charge will be applied for late submissions.
So if you are working away on your Karaoke video: For videos handed in after the 7th of September – but before the 21st of September – we must ask you to pay £5 for being a tardy thomas!
Just so we are clear, the extended deadline is:
21st September £5 late fee
We CANNOT accept anything after the 21st!
At Yuck ‘n Yum, we like deadlines so much, we’re giving you an extra one.
The AGK deadline has been extended to Friday the 7th of September!
You now have one extra week to tweak your karaoke videos and make them just right.
Lots of love
Yuck ‘n Yum

Read & download Yuck 'n Yum back issuesWe are always looking for submissions for future issues of Yuck 'n Yum. We invite anyone to submit work for consideration to submissions@yucknyum.com
Yuck ‘n Yum is a not-for-profit group and the zine is free, so work is accepted on a voluntary (i.e. unpaid) basis. By sending us your work, you consent to our publication of it in print and online. Free paper editions are available at our launches, and are sent out to several galleries and distributors (see our list of distributors, below). PDF versions are always available online for you to print out yourself.
Yuck ‘n Yum is distributed as a physical on-paper zine, but is also made available in an online edition. You can submit a single piece that will be included in both editions, or you could take advantage of the internet medium to produce alternative work for online publication. Our print edition is entirely black and white, so you could, for example, provide an alternative colour version for the online edition. Alternatively, you could send us totally different media: an audio project, a short video or animation for example. It’s totally up to you.
Format guidelines: The printed image will be black and white, and quite high contrast - bear this in mind. Each page in the zine is A5. Images should be 300dpi resolution. We prefer to receive images as jpegs (if a photograph) or pngs (if a line drawing). If you send us something low-res and we want to include it, we will probably get in touch to ask you for a high-res version before the zine goes to print. Written articles should be saved in a format compatible with Microsoft Word. If you are interested in submitting a sound piece or video work for the online version we would prefer audio work in mp3 or ogg format, and video work as a Quicktime mp4/mov file or ogg.
The deadline for our Spring issue is the 7th of June 2013.
